Abstract
The We see some defects in Iran’s photography and especially in technical matters collaborating with other sections like exhibitions, as far as in some situations they can take the audience out of the artwork’s exact concept. It seems that in Iran’s art photography there’s a thought about the independence of this art genre from technical matters. Being of this defect can cause retardation of this field and taking distance from the up-to-date science of the world. The contemporary photographer may be able to use his tools well and may have devised arrangements for his idea, but when there is no proportion in the relationship between art and internal content, the result of the work may have very little artistic value. Also, in an age when the performance of work becomes even more important than the work itself in some cases, technical shortcomings from the use of the camera to holding exhibitions and festivals change the original work and even misunderstandings about the concept and aesthetics of the work.
In this study, we examine the causes of these retardations, their effects, and ways to improve the technical level. Numerous factors, including economic issues, intense this issue, to the point that the artist may not be satisfied with the final stage of his work, such as printing, and may even be unfamiliar with the types of old and new presentations. This weakness can be due to the misuse of the environment.
In this Thesis, considering the current conditions of contemporary Iran, an attempt is made to examine the relationship between the technical and content characteristics of art photography and to provide solutions to strengthen it. In the following, we will examine the works of some Iranian art photographers and in an analytical manner, we will review these works technically and in terms of content.
The hypothetical result of this Thesis is the improvement of the artist’s relationship with the technics of photography, and it is expected that in the end, useful solutions can be provided in this regard.
